However old your children are, they will always need you for something. When they are born, they are completely reliant on you for every aspect of their life. They need to be clothed, fed and loved in order to develop properly. When they get a little older, you will find yourself helping them with their homework or giving them advice about social situations. When they become teenagers, you really have to be careful because while it may not seem as if they need you at all, they need you a great deal. Being a teenager is a stressful time for everybody because it is a transitional period. The stress of ceasing to be a child and becoming an adult is tough on everyone. It is also a time when one’s personality and identity starts to assert itself. This can be difficult, especially if that identity stands in opposition to their peers, or to your sensibilities. While your teenager may be rather fractious and sometimes difficult to deal with, they still need support. When they grow up and become (ostensibly) independent adults, they will still need your help. With the proportion of 18-34-year-olds who are buying their own homes at a thirty year low, you may find that they ask to move back in after college. Whatever it is, you need to be there for them and for that to happen, you need to stay fit and healthy. Here are a few tips on how to do it:


One of the things that you may not have thought about as you grow older is the condition of your bones. As long as they don’t hurt and they’re not broken, they are okay, right? Well, not quite. As everyone gets older, they lose bone density. This increases the risk of fractures or conditions like osteoporosis. Whether you take up jogging or go to a local class at a gym, regular exercise is the best thing for you. Eating well is important too.

However, it is not just your physical health that you need to think about. Keeping your mind sharp is crucial too. There are lots of good foods for your brain including beans, grains, fish and olive oil. Try to avoid processed food. Otherwise, social engagements are good as are anything that will keep your mind active like reading or solving puzzles.
