When you look good on the outside, you feel good on the inside- there’s no doubt about it. So don’t feel shallow if you value your appearance and want to look your best, the way you present yourself to the world says more about you than you’d expect. So there’s nothing wrong with wanting to make a good impression, and feeling good within yourself! Keeping on top of your appearance can be costly, but if doesn’t mean to say you can’t look sharp if you’re on a budget. Here are some of the ways you can go about it.

Makeup and Skincare

High-end makeup and skin care can really blow your budget, just one lipstick from a luxury brand such as Chanel, YSL or Charlotte Tilbury can set you back up to $40! Along with all of the other products you’d need for a full face of makeup, you’re looking at some serious cash. As nice as more expensive brands are, it’s possible to get quality cosmetics for far less. Beauty blogs are full of ‘dupe’ posts, where a very similar budget alternative is found to a more expensive product. Cheap products aren’t always going to be great, but they certainly can be. Read reviews and look online, there’s a wealth of information out there to help you snag the perfect products without paying top prices.

Society puts a lot of pressure onto women to having smooth and hair-free bodies. Of course, when it comes down to it hair removal is your own personal choice, it’s your body so do what works for you! But whether it’s due to choice or pressure, many women still remove their body hair. For men, beards are becoming more and more popular, although some men might need or want to shave every day. If you choose to do so a good razor is essential, however, the cost of these really can add up. Thankfully there are ways to cut costs, for example, you can find brands such as Bic, Mach 3 and Gillette Fusion razor blades for free when you sign up to certain sites online. You can also purchase subscription services, where you’re sent new razor heads every month. This can work out cheaper and is also convenient too since they’re delivered right to your door. To keep your hair looking great, go with a low maintenance haircut and color. That way it doesn’t look scruffy between cuts and you’re not having to constantly revisit the hairdresser which can be expensive!

Clothes can be extremely pricey, so updating your wardrobe each season won’t be cheap unless you shop smart. The key to getting the absolute most for your money is to create a capsule wardrobe. Here you buy a limited number of pieces but which can all be mixed and matched and that work together. That way you have a huge range of outfits with a select amount of items. For spring it could be a couple of dresses, some tops, and some jeans. If you buy pieces that co-ordinate well, they can be dressed up or down with accessories and footwear to look completely different every time and give you full versatility.
