Some me time
Most days like all the other stay at home mommy’s, my days consist of cleaning, taking care of children, laundry, and cooking. Well, today is going to be an extra special day for me.
Today I get to go get my nails done and then I get to go tan and workout at the gym.
I have hopes to have a base tan and have my abs in shape by spring. The reason I chose to get a gym membership was to work on the stomach that has been pudgy since I gave birth to my first child twenty plus years ago.
This is not a New years resolution for me. I did not make a New Years resolution because most of them fail. This is how I am going to get some time for myself and be healthier.
Benefits for myself and children
Getting myself in shape will also benefit my children. I had my first child when I was sixteen years old and I am now raising my toddler at the age of forty-three. Being in shape is a must with my age and having a toddler that seems to have a hundred times more the energy than myself.
All of my children benefit because after being cooped up in the house with kids you need that break to get your head back on track and to feel good about yourself. When I am feeling good about myself, I feel good about being a mom and it gives me more energy to come up with creative things to do as a family.
It is important for stay at home mom’s to take care of themselves. Let’s face it, if you’re not well then you cannot be at your best with your kids.
