Our cat Edgar is a strange cat I say!
Edgar is my son Billy’s cat. When we first got him he would not come out of Billy’s room. When we moved to Tennessee Edgar came around all of us and has become a family cat.
I feel sorry for Edgar because Joshua loves that cat so much but he is so dang mean to him. Joshua will grab Edgar by the handful of hair and bite him! He will try to carry Edgar but it’s around his throat. We are trying so hard to teach Joshua how to treat animals.
The reason I say Edgar is strange is because he is a cat and he loves chilli cheese Fritos. He will beg me for them. I give him one and he will lick the chilli cheese off it then it the chip. Well, tonight I was sitting here with some cheddar cheese and sour cream chips and he mewed at me. I give him one and he licks the flavor then eats the chip.
Now this is a cat that will not eat nothing but Kit and Kaboodle. He won’t even eat tuna out of a can! I don’t get it. Is this cat strange or what. Another thing he does that I am not used to is he licks me!!! Oh, I hate when he licks me. It feels like sandpaper on my skin. I let him lick me and just deal with it because its not for long and I don’t want him to think I don’t love him.
Sometimes he will sneak in our bed and he knows not to get on Bill’s side of the bed and does it anyways. I think he does it so when Bill pushes him off I bicker at him for it. Edgar then gets back in our bed and lies between my legs so Bill can’t touch him or should I say dare to touch him.
I have never been a cat person but I can tell you this. This is the second cat that my son has bought from a shelter and they seem to be the cleanest and most lovable cats I have ever seen. When Billy was two years old he wanted a cat. Bill and I used our change jar and let Billy by a cat from the shelter. We had that cat for a little over 10 years before he died.
My favorite kind of cats is clean and loveable cats. I love dogs too but seem to have the worst luck with them. Maybe after summer and our vacations are done, we will go to the shelter and get a dog.
