My son Joshua, Day 12 500 words challenge
Joshua will be two in July and let me tell you, he is a challenge. Joshua had a hard start from the minute he was born so this may be why he is somewhat spoiled. Although Joshua had a hard start he is now where all toddlers his age are.
Joshua is a kid with tons of energy. He can go without a nap and still be on the go all day long. Joshua is that kid that gets into everything and doesn’t allow you to do anything that takes your attention off him.
Joshua may keep me on my toes and make me feel exhausted every day but I could not imagine my life without this little hard-headed toddler. With Joshua being my 7th child you would think I would understand all of the things he does but I don’t. Joshua is around me more than anyone else. We do not go many places and he isn’t around other people other than my husband and his two brothers Billy and Garrett. Most of the time it is just Joshua and I during the day.
Joshua is the first child that I have had to take everything off my stands. I have tried and tried to get this child to keep his hands off the nick nacks and stuff on the stands but it was not worth the battle. Now our battles are keeping him off the stands, getting him to go to bed at night and keeping him out of stuff. Here are some pictures of Joshua being his normal self on a daily basis.
Doctors have told me that babies born with NAS are likely to have ADHD and I do believe that this is how Joshua has so much energy. I know toddlers have a lot of energy but this child is on the go non-stop and I am lucky if I can get him to nap and then it is after 10 pm before I can get him to sleep. He is not fed junk food. He is fed fruits and veggies because they are his favorites. He drinks milk and water.
Even days that I feel completely drained from this child, I know each and every day is a blessing. I do not worry about mommy time because I think about him turning two in a couple of months and the last 22 months have gone by so quickly, I know I am going to wake up and he is going to be turning 10 years old. I look at my grown children and wonder where all the time went. When I go through pictures and see the changes in Joshua in such a short time, I know I have to enjoy and make memories because their childhood is not forever.
I am ready to spend this summer making memories that I will hold dear to my heart. Our babies may grow up and leaves us to start their own families but one thing they leave behind is the memories of their childhood.
Pictures from 1 month to 3 months.
Before he was a year old.
Year old and up.
You will hear a lot about Joshua because he is the one I spend my days with and requires 90% of my time. Joshua is going to see his biological dad (my son) for the first time in two weeks. Stay tuned to see how that goes.
