Winter Is Here But Is Your Wardrobe Ready?

We’re deep in the throes of winter now, and it’s probably time to start thinking about investing in some winter clothes for the chilly season…if you haven’t already. You might think that it’s too late to prepare your winter wardrobe. However, recently, the worst of the weather has arrived at the end of the season, so it probably is worth getting some clothes ready. Otherwise, you might find the weather is a tad too frightful to head outside. So, let’s look at a few options.

$400 Gloves

There’s a scene in Molly’s Game where the titular character exchanges a pair of $400 gloves for skates so that she can go ice skating in NYC. When the sales attendant looks at her as if she’s crazy, Molly says that they work just as well as the five dollar variety. She’s right of course, and it’s an important lesson that everyone should learn. You don’t have to be stylish to stay warm. A cheap pair of gloves will keep your hands warm just as well as a more expensive pair. In fact, they might even be better and could last you longer. The only recommendation would be that you buy a pair with a lining to give your hands an extra blanket from the cold.

A Winter Coat

Perhaps you can purchase one as a belated Christmas present for yourself or someone else? A winter coat is an item of clothing that everyone needs in their wardrobe at this time of year. It’s guaranteed that it won’t spend that much time on the hanger. The best winter coats have a large thick hood, again with an extra layer to keep your head and ears warm. They also have a variety of different linings inside the coat to ensure that you don’t feel the wind blow straight through. As such, it can be worth paying a little extra to make sure the jacket you get is wind resistant.

Fluffy Shoes

Don’t you just hate it when you go out in winter, you come back in, and your feet are wet. Weirdly, you don’t remember stepping in any puddles, but you’re still left pulling off soggy socks from frozen feet. This is because at winter there’s enough moisture in the air to get your feet wet. What you want to purchase is a pair of shoe slippers with wool inside. A slippers heel and sole lined with wool will keep your feet warm and dry regardless of what the weather is like outside, and they look good too. In fact, you can wear these type of slippers indoors or outdoors since they have a rubber sole.

A Baggy Sweater

Last but not least, you should make sure that you have a baggy sweater to wear indoors. Remember, getting the right wardrobe isn’t just about finding what you need to wear outside. It’s a good idea to have a great outfit to keep you warm and cozy when you’re indoors too. So, make sure you buy a sweater a few sizes too big that you can sink right into.
