What are you plans for your kids this summer?
Summer seems to slip by so fast and when I look back on what the summers has been like for the last couple of years I frown. The last couple of summers we have done nothing. I want summers full of fun. When my older children were young we went camping, fishing, swimming, and went to parks. Now it seems like I struggle to find things to do with the kids. I have a 22-month-old and an 8-year-old and trying to find something to do that they both would enjoy seems a little harder.
I found out that they have a program at http://www.kidsbowlfree.com/. You can sign your kids up to bowl for free for the summer. When you go to the site you will need to pick your state and then your city. Once I signed Garrett up they offered a family pass for $28.95 for the summer and this is for four adults. So now we have a fun cheap way to enjoy some family time this summer. You will still need to pay for shoe rental and this is for Monday through Friday and they have set times for this event.
We are going to try camping this year and hope to have lots of fun. Do you have a toddler you take camping? This is my first time taking a toddler camping so if you have any advice I would love to hear from you.
Bowling is going to be a challenge for us but we are going to see how it goes. Joshua is not really going to enjoy it too much. What activities do you do with a toddler and an 8-year-old? How do you find something that they both can do and enjoy?
Garrett would be happy sitting home all summer on the electronics but I am not going to let that happen. Joshua is a very active toddler and is curious about everything.
You would think with raising all the kids I have raised I would know what to do in the summer. Time has changed and the ages of the children are not close together like they were years ago when I was raising the older boys.
The park is always fun but that is not where I want to spend my summer. The park has lots of people and I would like some ideas that are not so overcrowded with people.
