Our trip to Michigan to see family.
We here about an hour from my mom’s and I gave Joshua a snack cake in hopes to keep him from screaming and crying from being trapped in the car seat for 9 hours. Well, he decided he was bored so he smashed his lunch cake and smeared it all over his hands.
On Thursday, after we arrived in town, we stopped by our son Matthews first. We setup a time for me to get my semicolon tattoo and Billy to get his also. Then we stop by mom’s before went to this amazing place to eat dinner. This amazing place is Pizza Sam’s in Battle Creek, Michigan. This pizza will get your mouth-watering because it is just that good. Not only is there pizza the best I have ever eaten they are very nice people. The picture I took of this pizza doesn’t even begin to show how much I love this pizza!
Now that we had dinner we head over to my sons for our tattoos. We had enough pizza left over to share with my son and his kids. My tattoo was just a small butterfly semicolon tattoo so I went first. Exhaustion was kicking in by this time and I just wanted to get back to my mom’s to get some sleep.
Friday morning we got up and took the boys to the zoo. After we were done we went to McDonald’s and got the kids the famous Happy Meals. We went back to my sons and ate there with them. I do think this was one of the biggest orders I have placed at a McDonald’s. Later that evening we went out to our daughters Michelle’s and she had pulled pork and some of us brought sides. Bill was happy because he was able to see Barbara, Jamie, and Allison. It is very rare we are able to see them and Michelle made this possible for us. The food was great and I enjoyed myself even when I was chasing Joshua none stop. I was happy to see Bill enjoying himself and talk to the kids about old times and present. When we were done we went back to my moms and crashed for the night. I am still running on fumes and so exhausted.
Saturday we got back up early and was looking at another very busy day. I took Bill, Billy, and Garrett to Matthews so they could do some stuff around the house. Me, Joshua and my mom went to Home Spun for breakfast. This place gives you enough food for two people. Once breakfast was finished, we headed to Ionia to see my son Michael. This was kinda exciting to me because Joshua was 22 months exactly on that day and it was going to be the first time he ever met Michael. It was about an hour drive there. Once there and we got inside everything went better than what I expected. When it came time to get pictures with Michael I wanted one of just him and Joshua but Joshua was not going to let that happen.
Once back to my mom’s which was 4 pm and left us struggling with time. We had planned a big dinner at my moms. There were 23 people at my moms for this dinner. We had steak, chicken, potato salad, macaroni salad, baked beans, and corn on the cob. Dinner was chaotic but was a great dinner and loved having everyone there. By the time dinner was over I had three kids that were ready to go home. They were home sick and I was so exhausted.
The weather was nasty while we were there. I was exhausted from the whole trip and I myself was ready to go home. I love spending time with my family but I can only deal with the state of Michigan for a very short time. I am happy to be home and so is the kids. We brought back my cousin’s daughter Tori for him and we also brought back a fur baby. Her name was Kush but we have renamed her Tiny. She is a full-blooded pit bull and only 8 months old.
