I love to get the kids out of the house and away from the computers and T.V’s. I had done said once Joshua my youngest could walk, I was going to take him skating. He will be 2 years old in July and he went skating for the first time last weekend.
He did really good for his first time skating. For the most part he held my hand but he tried to get brave and go on his own. I am sure it won’t be long and he will have this down. I did make sure he had a helmet, knee pads, and he had his own skates. I really think once he can wear rental skates it will be a lot better for him. The only skates we could get for him was some from the store that required his shoes on. To be honest them are not good skates at all.
Billy and Garrett went also. Billy doesn’t allow me to get pictures of him so I have none of him to show. Here are a few of Garrett. He really wears his self out when he skates.
Garrett is still a little wobbly on skates and he still falls a lot but he has never been real good with balance. We did enjoy getting out of the house. Skating can be one of them expensive things to do but it is good exercise for the kids. I do make sure before we leave the house they have full bellies. We take them on Sundays during the day when there is hardly anybody there. When they get better at skating then I will be able to take them on Friday or Saturday night, I am sure that will be a couple of years down the road.
Maybe soon they will be flying around the rink and we can get some video’s of them.
Family time is important to us and we have neglected it for long enough. I plan to make this summer one of the best and will be sharing. Your children are only young once and if you blink, the next thing you know they are married and have there families. I know, this is my second time around and I plan to cherish every moment I can. Life is short and I personally am thank for each and day I have with my little ones.
