We are welcoming a new puppy to our family!
A couple of weeks ago Joshua seen a dog out in the yard and he threw a fit because he couldn’t get to it. As of late I’ve been debating rather or not if getting a puppy is a good idea, and today I gave in. The reason I gave in is because I think a puppy growing up with Joshua would be good. Not only for Joshua but the pup as well, and we’ve recently put up the fence and now they can both go outside and have fun.
So we got our puppy and we were having a hard time coming up with names, and when we did think of a name someone else thought of a different one. Long story short no one was really agreeing on just one name. That’s when I decided to tell the boys to pick 3 names they wanted and to write them on paper and we’ll just draw the names. Bill and I also choose three names each. Once we all had out names we placed them in a brown paper bag and we then drew out the dogs name. These are the names that could have been drawn: Luke, Goober, Gutts, Ajax, Doge, Baba, Shepard, Hellsing, Dunken, Shamrock, Poe, Havec.
Garrett was the one who drew the name and the name that was chosen was Ajax. It was also one of the names Garrett wanted it to be. Anyways this was a fun and interesting way to name a new family pet. It got the whole family involved and there was no more debating on the name. We all were in agreement that no matter what name was drawn out, it would be his name. There was no complaining or negative attitudes which of course is a good thing.
So if you have issues figuring out the name of a new family pet I recommend you try doing what we did. It was fun and got everyone involved.
